Sergio Smith
Founder
Sergio has been a fishing aficionado since the age of 5 years old. He was born in Cuba and grew up in Southern California and South Florida. He has enjoyed boating his entire life and wants to share his experiences and knowledge of the sea with others.
Sergio served in Army as a 10th Mountain Division Army Ranger and has owned several successful businesses prior to opening Reel Time Fishing Boat Rentals and Charters. “The mission with our business, and what sets us apart from other charters and boat rental companies, is our dedication to our customers and ensuring they have the ultimate experience when out on our boats.
Phil Garvey
“First Mate Phil Garvey is an experienced angler and a Co-founding member of the Reel Time Organization. A native of Peotone, Illinois, he nurtured his love for fishing at a young age in the many rivers and lakes of the Midwest. First Mate Phil purchased his first vessel in the 1990s, and the rest is history. From that point forward, spending time water became a necessity.
Off the water, First Mate Phil spends his days working in sales and marketing- an industry in which he has enjoyed a fruitful career spanning nearly 40 years. As a young salesman, he was amongst the top earners for a fortune 500 company; and was promoted to a managerial role at 32. Phil also loves music- he is an avid bassist who has played shows in hundreds of venues around the Midwest. Today, he continues to write and collaborate with his son, Phil JR., and build his collection of vinyl records. His other interests include diving, riding his motorcycle, and watching his beloved Chicago Bears.
First Mate Phil moved to Southeastern Florida area almost 10 years ago and has dreamed of working in the charter business ever since. With his amicable and bright personality, he is sure to provide an exceptional experience for everyone on board.
First Mate Chaz Hogue
Chaz is a true Floridian. Growing up in Delray and Boynton Beach FL. He has been fishing, surfing, and boating since a young age. Chaz is fun, outgoing, and free spirited. He has been working in the service industry for over 18 years and is always making sure you are having the best experience when you are with him. He knows how to have a good time and is a great helping hand. Ask for him to join you on your next charter.
First Mate Steph
Stephanie had dreamt of being on the water her whole life and after moving to Fl from the Poconos PA, she has been able to do just that while working with Reel Time Fishing. It took some time to get her sea legs, but now watch out, this girl is a total Capricorn just like her horoscope sign! She will make sure to be smiling and ensure everyone has a great time while on board.
